Check out Pollença!

Local poet Costa i Llobera masterfully transmitted the beauty and classical resonance of “The Pine Tree of Formentor”, which is still revered at the Literary Conversations held since 1959 at the present-day Hotel Barceló Formentor. In a similar vein, the town’s commitment to the world of culture remains firm to this very day. Tales that are within your reach to listen to, feel, experience or share with whoever you may wish. And, of course, the Formentor peninsula. Its famous hotel, its viewing point or its lighthouse have been sources of inspiration for politicians, artists and thinkers alike. Now you can discover them too.

Cala en Gossalba

Cala en Gossalba is situated at 19 kilometres from Port de Pollença, between Cala Murta, les Butzes and Morro del Pont (excellent panoramic views), as well as below Puig de ses Butzes (162 metres high).

This u-shaped beautiful virgin and wonderful sea inlet is quite small, on the beach there are mostly pebbles and gravel, an orientation toward southeast-southwest, and there are two small coves which are surrounded by some high mountains and pine trees.

The marine and underwater conditions are good for anchoring boats as well as for all types of diving. The rocky ground is covered by seaweed. In the middle of the cove there is a depth of more than ten metres, which reduces in the proximity of the coast. The best area for diving is the one next to Morro des Pont, where you can dive along the rocky walls at different depths. On this underwater excursion you might see different species.

The accessibility by car is easy until the surroundings of Cala Murta. The private car can be left on a free parking area. From her you have to follow on foot, between cliffs on a quite steep trail of 2,5 kilometres length.

These characteristics explain that the beach is not crowded at all by local visitors.
